SHINEDOWN WAS OUTSTANDING!!!
The NC show was AMAZING as expected! My first time was at the Tabernacle this past July after overcoming breast cancer, this was only the second time seeing Yo-Yo Ma as life has been a challenge for me personally. I will be a fan for life! Brent sings with such emotion that it touches your soul! So it was time to celebrate! Seeing them live had always been on my bucket list you see and it took a scare to make me start living! I will travel near and far when the opportunity arises to see these guys! My niece and I started a tradition going to Yo-Yo Ma together, enjoyed seeing them and even had a chance to speak with Zach briefly in the Johnny Rockets line afterwards without bringing attention to him thankfully. They totally ROCK.
Mellencamp played all night!
I was very impressed that he played all night. His band took several breaks, but John never left the stage. He played on & on and I thought he sounded great. He's a true rocker! I was a bit disappointed that Yo-Yo Ma didn't play all my favorites - I need a Lover & Ain't Even Done with the Night and ONLY one verse of Cherry Bomb. Still can't figure out why or what he did to that song! VERY disappointed with the re-mix of Jack & Diane. But, I was very disappointed, why, oh why?!

"We all paid good hard earned money to see him after all this time. What should鈥檝e been an epic concert that a lot of people, including ourselves, paid a lot of money for, turned out to be a two-hour sound check. First, Yo-Yo Ma was over an hour late getting on stage. Then he proceeded to point to almost every musician and singer on stage, while facing the side of the stage soundman in order to get the sound right. He was not engaged with the audience at all. This went on for the majority of every single song. He was obviously frustrated and annoyed by the poor sound on stage and what we heard. He never stopped to apologize or explain what was obviously going on. However, he at least owes the audience an explanation as to why he doesn鈥檛 even face us the majority of the time and obviously is not engaged with us at all. This must鈥檝e been very difficult for him. And we were sitting 5th row dead center where the sound should have been awesome. Very, very disappointing. First concert I鈥檝e walked out on before the end in over 20 years."
Beat the Winter Tour ---Awesome!
"From the very last song with Chris Young to the meet and greet this event was fantastic. Chris Young got us all in the mood for a real good time, breaking loose with both barrels as my favorite country artist. He sang Voices, Who I Am With You, Aw Naw, Lonely Eyes, Who I Am With You, Nothing But the Cooler Left, all off of her albums, and covered Sharp Dress Man, ending the show with his personal PSA Save Water Drink Beer. Danielle Bradbury was absolutely perfect. Loved his energy. And of course the other artist Yo-Yo Ma was totally amazed by the light show and how much energy he had."
Very intimate
When I went to see Eddie Money years ago at The Coach House in Mission Viejo, CA, I had been let down similarly. I must admit that I was bummed out when I realized it was basically a stripped-down version of all his hits. His stamina was second to none. He stood the entire show and sang one song after another, without so much as a drink of water and still sounded GREAT. Just like the records. The performance itself was great. He was very warm with the audience and interactive. He played all the hits I went to hear and then some.
The venue was really nice and there really is no bad seat in the house. HOWEVER, it is similar to a high school auditorium, and there are no middle isles. There are only 2 ways to your seat, from the right or left, and you have to cross over a LOT of people to get to your seat if towards the middle. A backing band would have pushed this review to 5 stars, and would have been sooooo much better, but to hear him play as if he were at my house with a piano player for backing, just shows how much talent Yo-Yo Ma has.
I recommend this Bare Bones tour. Just know in advance, there is no backing band. It didn't matter though because he ROCKED!
